Why do Avocado seeds help relive pain?

Avocado seeds are thought to have pain-relieving properties due to their natural anti-inflammatory and antioxidant compounds. The seeds contain phenolic compounds, such as catechins and procyanidins, which can help reduce inflammation—a common cause of pain in the body. Here’s a breakdown of why they may help relieve pain:

  1. Anti-Inflammatory Properties: Inflammation is a significant factor in chronic pain conditions, such as arthritis or muscle pain. The antioxidants and anti-inflammatory agents in avocado seeds may help reduce swelling and inflammation in the targeted area, relieving discomfort.
  2. Antioxidants: Avocado seeds are rich in antioxidants that combat oxidative stress and free radicals, which can worsen inflammation and tissue damage. By reducing oxidative stress, these compounds support cellular health and may alleviate pain over time.
  3. Fatty Acids and Phytosterols: Avocado seeds contain fatty acids and phytosterols that can aid in calming the body’s inflammatory response, which may help relieve pain when applied topically.
  4. Tannins and Flavonoids: The tannins in avocado seeds can provide an astringent effect that may soothe irritated tissues and reduce the sensitivity of painful areas. Flavonoids are known to have anti-inflammatory and analgesic (pain-relieving) properties as well, which can enhance the pain relief effect.
  5. Increased Circulation: When applied topically, avocado seed extracts may promote blood circulation, which aids in delivering oxygen and nutrients to the area, supporting healing and easing pain.
  6. Cayenne Pepper (Capsaicin): Contains capsaicin, which blocks pain signals by depleting substance P, a neurotransmitter responsible for pain perception. It also promotes blood flow to affected areas, speeding up healing and providing warmth to sore muscles and joints.
  7. DMSO: A powerful anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving agent that penetrates the skin and delivers other ingredients deep into tissues. It also helps reduce swelling and improve circulation.

VINEGAR ISN'T JUST FOR COOKING!

There are numerous uses for vinegar in the kitchen but did you know there are other uses that are so much more helpful?

Natural Deodorant & Bacteria Killing

Start with spraying your arm pits with Apple Cider Vinegar

I keep a little Brown spray bottle in the bathroom and spray my pits every day for about 2 weeks, then I dropped off to every other week and now just do it once a month or less.  Body is caused from bacteria and the vinegar kills the bacteria.

Enter the shower and use Safeguard soap on your pits and bits!

Safeguard soap was recommend to me over 15 years ago and I've tried other soaps and they don't work as well. I have a hard time finding it in the stores so I just started ordering it from Amazon and getting 8 bars at a time.  I also just use the plain Safeguard Soap, not fragrance.

Organic Coconut Oil & Domboro Soak

Once out of the shower I use Organic Coconut Oil with Domboro Soak mixed in.  I melt the coconut oil in the microwave and add the Domeboro then I dip my fingers in a small squatty Kerr jar, .  Domeboro does not dissolve!  When it solidifies the Domeboro settles on the bottle of the jar.  I add the Domeboro because of it's an anti itch properties.  In the summer I find I tend to itch if I sweat.  Just dig down into the coconut oil until you feel the granules, then apply to your pits.

Baking Soda, Cornstarch and Baby Powder

After applying the coconut oil I take a Soft Cloth Pad sprinkled with the powder mix.  I like to save empty spice jars to use for this.  I do 1/3 of each powder for the mix.  It's probably not really precise but the baking soda cuts any odor, the corn starch cuts moisture and the fine baby powder keeps the other two powders from being to granulated.  You can use another powder of your choose.

This is the most important part!

You will need to add WHITE VINEGAR to your wash!  Not Apple Cider vinegar!  White vinegar kills bacteria and when you have body odor it transfers to your clothes.  You can also spray your shoes if you have foot odor but you will also have to spray your feet before you get into the shower to kill the bacteria completely.  FYI Vinegar also acts as a fabric softener and helps to cut down on static cling.  And if you've ever done tie dye, it also sets colors so darks and lights can be washed together and the colors won't run.  I used this measuring cup to start (4 oz measuring ) and now I just circle the dry clothes in the washer before I add detergent.  Another great thing about vinegar is it kills odors and mildew on stinky towels!!

No More Spots on Dishes!

Our water is pretty hard here so it tends to leave spots or steaks on glasses, dishes and even flatware.  I order these 8 oz Bottles on Amazon, you get 8. You'd be surprised what they come in handy for.  Before I start the dishwasher I spray the glasses on top, then the dishes and flatware below.  I uses Cascade Lemon and put it in the little compartment and start the dishwasher.  Wallah! No  more spots!

USES FOR VINEGAR IN THE GARDEN

The desire to move away from toxic pesticide, fungicides, herbicides and artificial fertilizer is gaining popularity as health awareness is on the rise.

Growing your own food organically is the alternative, but the tricky pest problem remains, fortunately, vinegar is a great alternative to these artificial toxins!

Vinegar can simultaneously enhance the life of a plant and kill weeds.

Get Rid of Weeds

Get rid of unwanted garden growth by pouring apple cider vinegar onto weeds.

RECIPE:

  • 1 gallon of vinegar,
  • 1/2 cup of salt
  • couple of squirts of dawn dish detergent...

Kills weeds and grass in less than two hours, and it's safe for kids and pets and less than $5

Food for Acidic Loving Plants

Plants like gardenias, holly, azaleas, rhododendrons, hydrangeas, and begonias grow beautifully in acidic soil. Spray them with a mixture of 1 gallon of water to 1 cup of white vinegar to help them grow.

Removes Fruit Flies

To keep fruit flies and household flies at bay, you should mix half a cup of apple cider vinegar, a tablespoon of molasses, a quarter cup of sugar and a cup of water.

Then, pour the mixture into a suitable container and hang it on the fruit tree. Fruit flies will be trapped in it as soon as they try to attack the mixture.

Cleanse Your Hands of Allergens

You can wind up with dirt and allergens on your hands after spending a day working in your garden. Wash your hands with some distilled vinegar to cleanse them of debris and make sure that they don’t itch.

Keep Rabbits at Bay

If rabbits are ruining your garden you can soak cotton balls in distilled vinegar and place them in a 35mm film container or something similar. Poke holes in the top of the container and place it in your garden to keep rabbits at bay.

Kill Ants

Spray ant hills with one part water and one part vinegar to kill them. Spray areas where ants are likely to invade to keep them at bay.

Wash Your Garden Tools

You can soak garden tools, like a rake or hoe, overnight in vinegar to get rid of rust and grime. You can also fill a plastic bag with vinegar and tie it over a water spigot to keep it submerged. Rinse everything off with water.

Get Rid of Slugs and Snails

If slugs and snails are compromising your plant growth, spray them with some undiluted vinegar. This will make them wither and die.

Clean Out Your Birdbath

Mix some undiluted water with white vinegar and use it to scrub your birdbath. Make sure to rinse it off with water.

Keep Kitty Away

If your kitty is using your garden or your kid’s sandbox as a toilet then you can pour some distilled vinegar into the sand or soil to keep them away.

Keep Flowers Fresh

Help freshly cut flowers from your garden last by adding two tablespoons of vinegar and a teaspoon of sugar to a quart of water before adding your flowers.

🧺 Borax-Free Laundry Detergent (Powdered Version)

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Arm & Hammer Washing Soda
  • 1 cup Baking Soda (for extra deodorizing + gentle scrubbing)
  • 1 bar Castile soap (like Dr. Bronner’s) or Fels-Naptha (if you're okay with it)
  • 10–15 drops essential oils (optional but adds that fresh clean scent)

Instructions:

  1. Grate the bar soap into fine flakes.
  2. Mix it thoroughly with the washing soda and baking soda in a large bowl.
  3. Add essential oils if using, and stir again.
  4. Store in an airtight container.

How to Use:

  • 1–2 tablespoons per load.
  • For HE machines, sprinkle directly into the drum.

✅ Why This Works—Without Borax:

  • Washing soda is the powerhouse: it softens water and breaks up grease and dirt.
  • Baking soda neutralizes odors and helps brighten.
  • Soap binds to oils and grime so your machine can rinse it away.
  • Essential oils (like tea tree, lemon, eucalyptus) give anti-microbial boosts naturally.
